Lookbehind: amounts after $
A regex exercise from Regexdrill. Solve it with a pattern box with live highlighting in your browser, checked against hidden test strings, and it is checked the moment you submit.
The task
Match every amount that comes right after a dollar sign: digits with optional two-digit cents. The whole match is compared, so it must not include the $.
What this exercise teaches
(?<=\$)\d+(?:\.\d{2})? needs a $ in front of the digits but does not include it in the match.
A hint if you get stuck
(?<=...) checks what comes before without consuming it.
