Alternation with anchors
A regex exercise from Regexdrill. Solve it with a pattern box with live highlighting in your browser, checked against hidden test strings, and it is checked the moment you submit.
The task
A match anywhere counts, so anchor it yourself. Match lines that are exactly yes or exactly no.
What this exercise teaches
^(?:yes|no)$ groups the two words so both anchors apply to each one.
A hint if you get stuck
The bar has the lowest priority, so ^yes|no$ means (^yes) or (no$). Group the alternatives before anchoring.
