Matching quote marks
A regex exercise from Regexdrill. Solve it with a pattern box with live highlighting in your browser, checked against hidden test strings, and it is checked the moment you submit.
The task
The whole line must match. Match text wrapped in quotes, where the closing quote is the same kind as the opening one: both double or both single.
What this exercise teaches
(["']).*\1 captures whichever quote opens the line and requires that same quote to close it.
A hint if you get stuck
Capture the opening quote, then use a backreference to require the same character at the end.
