The task
Replace to remove all whitespace at the start and end of each line, leaving inner spacing alone. Every occurrence must be replaced, so think about the g flag.
What this exercise teaches
^\s+|\s+$ with the g flag and an empty replacement removes both ends in one pass.
A hint if you get stuck
Two alternatives: whitespace anchored at the start, or whitespace anchored at the end. Without g, only the first is replaced.
